Housing and room share search
Ubud is has a very large and transient expat community. There are always people looking to rent out their villas or rooms for short periods. Check out Facebook ‘Bali Housing and Accommodation’ of Facebook for listing for short term rentals/room shares/villas.
Booking accommodations upon arrival
Given that Ubud is a popular tourist destination, there is no shortage of possibilities to suit budget and taste, and also your traveling style.
Although some people may prefer the security of having accommodations sorted months before you arrive, it is possible find accommodations once you arrive. If this is your style what some students have done in the past is to book a room for a few days upon arrival. Then they partner with another trainee or two and 'look around' for a villa/house to rent for the month with other students (Facebook, announcement walls, word of mouth). This can be a significantly cheaper option and in general you get a lot more space for your money. (For example a comfortable 2 bedroom villa for one month is about $1000... give or take.
Please note
Rates change seasonally, and are negotiable.
It is best to arrange your accommodations by contacting the accommodation provider directly. Don’t be afraid to barter, it is expected.
Please make sure the accommodation you are considering to stay at has a mosquito net for the bed.
